Bird Watching
Kitty liked watching birds from the window. There were cardinals, woodpeckers, bluejays, and occasionally orioles who came by the birdfeeder. Her favorites were the cardinals because she was attracted to their red colors. What she didn’t like were the wandering cats that came by to hunt the birds. They scared the birds away and the birds wouldn’t return for at least a few hours after the roaming cats came. Kitty would hiss and growl at the intruders, but they paid no attention to her. One day, a new calico cat entered her yard and quietly sat near the birdfeeder, watching the birds like Kitty did. The birds didn’t fly away and Kitty was pleased.
